This my first experience with Swedish Whisky and I found this one to have a nice taste and different flavor profile compared to other countries. Mackmyra is the oldest distillery in Sweden, the first drops distilled back in 1999. Since then, the distillery has opened four warehouses in different corners of Sweden, and has even constructed a “Whisky Village” in north of Sweden containing a new, unique distillery utilizing the power of gravity. Arguably, prompting a more favourable review or outlook from the host who may have very little or no experience of Mackmyra, or whisky. I do find it very interesting that a distillery such as Mackmyra has to resort to such things.
